Had a great time at Suzanne's place where she and Toby proved to be awesome hostess and host. Thanks for having us Suzanne! Suzanne owns Toby, the one and only pup that has ever been returned to me. I got him back when he was seven months old with a couple quirks and going by the name of Jobe. Or maybe that's Job in biblical context. In any event he came by the name of Jobe or Job when his original owner as a pup decided he didn't like "Xen" the first name she chose for him. Upon receiving him, I took him through a round of obedience while trying to get reacquainted with him and figure out exactly how to go about rehoming a 7 month old pup that had had little to no training. And along came Suzanne with yet another name for the pup. Not crazy about Job... but wanting something that sounded similar, she and her partner Kathy settled on Tobe and eased in the Y. With her, Toby is loved, thriving and actively working on his manners and obedience. Toby is a sweet sweet boy and has hit the Doberman lottery. I could not have asked for a better home or a better human for him! It's a great fit! Today, Suzanne and Toby provided the open house for and event organized on my Facebook group page, "Let's Take The Dogs". Remedy and Toby had their now ritualistic not so friendly on leash meet and greet but off leash they're the best of buds... not sure what that's all about. Off leash, Toby quickly showed Remedy the way to the water, a lovely little spring fed lake in Suzanne's back yard. Also joining in on the fun were KatieScarlett, and her Pitbull brother Dehner, and their humans Sharon and Jared. Katie showed off some of her obedience skills that are truly superb, especially when a frisbee's involved. A toss of her favorite toy, the only reward she needs. Katie had a little fun in the water as well but that frisbee, more than the water, is her thing! And Denher, well Dehner was just Denher, happy to just be. Once the dogs had had their fun and burned off some steam, we the people got out turn.... Burgers and Dogs and some good conversation. Below are some photos from the day which include three full siblings from different litters... oldest to youngest, Toby, Katie and Remedy accompanied by Dehn.
We had a great time and so did the dogs!
